Mr. Anthony Robert Secka is a Commissioner at the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of The Gambia and one of five members entrusted with the leadership and oversight of the nation’s electoral process.

A highly experienced electoral administrator, Mr. Secka continues to devote his career to promoting fairness, transparency, and institutional integrity within The Gambia’s electoral process. His extensive tenure at the IEC reflects a steady and merit-based rise through critical operational and leadership positions. He began his journey as an Assistant Regional Electoral Officer, advanced to Electoral Officer, later served as Director of Administration, and ultimately held the post of Chief Electoral Officer.

Throughout his tenure, Mr. Secka has played a pivotal role in safeguarding electoral standards. He was instrumental in overseeing national voter registration exercises and elections during various electoral cycles.

Having served in various regional offices, Mr. Secka has worked directly with candidates, political parties, and community stakeholders. His commitment to enforcing electoral regulations and promoting ethical conduct during campaigns has earned him respect across the political spectrum.

He now serves as Commissioner and Returning Officer for the Brikama Administrative Area, which has various electoral offices including Brikama and Yarambamba.
