Commission Member, Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), The Gambia

Mr. Lamin Cham is a Commissioner at the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of The Gambia and one of five members entrusted with the leadership and oversight of the nation’s electoral process.

A seasoned finance and policy expert, Mr. Cham previously held the role of Finance Director at the IEC. As a Commission member, he contributes to upholding the integrity, efficiency, and impartiality of electoral processes in The Gambia.

Before joining the IEC, Mr. Cham built a reputation for integrity and public service. He is a respected figure in electoral management and public finance. His insights on regulatory compliance and resource allocation add depth to the IEC’s governance and oversight functions.

He is currently the Commissioner and Returning Officer for the Basse Administrative Area which is the furthest in The Gambia
